I decided to go ahead and shut down the comments section on the first Corrie Wood posting. I warned everyone not to make any threats to one another. It is unacceptable. Scott is technically innocent until proven guilty. However, that still doesn't mean you are not entitled to your opinon and if you want to express your opinon - please state: This is my opinon on what happend but there is no confirmed truth to the matter. I will now moderate any posts before they are allowed on my blog.
Reading this might be emotional for Scott to read. If you are innocent in terms of Corrie's death, then you have nothing to worry about. Any opinions being said on here hold no merit to you and my suggestion would be trying to find the person who did this to your girlfriend. This is the only way to fully take the cloud of suspicion off of you. Just my opinion. Last, since you are reading my blog, I would like to plead with you to stop drinking and driving. Maybe you had nothing to do with Corrie's death but I would devastated to find out that you killed an innocent person while drinking and driving. Please think of the innocent people out there that don't want to loose on of their son's or daughter's to a drunk driver. Think of your own child being taken from you by a drunk driver, imagine the hurt and pain you would feel. Please.
Folks, always remember that the mistakes of your youth and younger years can haunt you later in life. Every choice you make can affect you later on in life. Just like people that commit sex crimes against our youth will forever pay by being "outed" no matter where they live. Though, in my opinion they should have more harsh consequences. However, I am grateful to have this type of protection in place. When a sex crime is commited, it is always the prior offenders that are dragged in first. When you committ a violent hate crime, you will be in a data base and gurantee you that you will be dragged in first. I can understand Scott being frustrated at the speculation but he needs to remember that in most cases, it is always those with a prior record that are under suspicion first.

If( and I have no reason to think she doesn't) again IF NSC has information that she has not disclosed...why does that bother you so much? I would think that you are after all claiming to be a friend of Corries, you would want this solved. BY ANYONE! Honestly, I can completely understand why NSC cannot tell certain things on a public message board. There are things that cannot compromise the investigation. Think about it, if someone close to you was murdered and you had someone like NSC spending hours of her time trying to get media attention and doing behind the scenes research would you not appreciate that? NSC never even knew Corrie and she cares enough to try to help in any way she can. Then think about it, if NSC were to post inside info that got into the hands of the murderer and the investigation went to shit, you would be blasting her to no end for that. I am someone that can personally state that yes she does have info that not many other have. How can I say this? Because through this case I know her, I help her in any way I can, and I also know what she knows. I myself will never in a million years post certain things for just anyone to see. If those things hurt getting justice for Corrie in any way I could never live with myself. She posts that she knows things but cannot release not to tease anyone or lead anyone on, but so that others that want justice for Corrie know that she is still here and uncovering new info and that she will not let it die. So that you all know not to lose hope. I'm sorry if you cannot understand that but that is the way it is and the way it will stay until the murderer is behind bars. Trust me none of you except the murderer and those very close to the killer want NSC off this case, if you loved Corrie you need to trust her.
One more little comment I would like to make in regards to the statement about a close knit community. All communities are close knit when it comes to your friends. As far as not accepting strangers, isn't that a little ridiculous. Looks like someday if you have your way, incest and inbreeding will be the end of you if you do not except outsiders.
As far as strangers caring enough to get involved, to me, that might just be the best way. They have no prejudice, no opinion to start, and make a call with information they have been given, found, or from posts by others. Local friends might be a little blind to the facts if they are close to the one who is guilty, and can not except the fact they might be taken for a ride.
Another point I find somewhat interesting is the fact that people like NSC can dig into things even the law can't. The law has to be very careful about how they go about things. Private citizens can go to just about any length, as long as it's legal, to find what they want. They are not the ones bringing charges, so just by passing something on to LE they have come up with can turn a case. At least it gives them something to investigate and prove or disprove.
I also know for a fact NSC has been in contact with local people. So the statement made about no one talking to strangers does not hold water. I think there are a number of people associated with "Strangers" and "Strangers" associated with "Strangers", all working for a common cause.
Speaking about the last two posters (I am pretty sure I know who one of you are :) VERY WELL SAID!!! There is nothing wrong with what NSC is doing and everyone should be greatful to her for the hard work that she has put forth, (along with a few others!!) The hard work will keep on coming and in the end it will all pay off!!

Nebraska State Patrol is collecting and then presenting evidence to county attorney, who decides whether it's enough to prosecute and get a conviction in court. So if county attorney thinks it's not enough at a point in time and they need to get more, it will take additional time. That's how it works, right?

No red hasn't been cleared in any way shape or form. Scott yes he has just do the research for your self. Loomis failed the test and is the guilty one. Red also knows what's going on as she can't keep her story straight from day to day. It is terribly disheartening to go day by day and not hear of anything good of this case. We all would love to finally read of some headway being made. None of us know what is taking place behind the scenes or just how close or far away an arrest might be, or even if it will ever take place. Someone out there knows something! Someone is hiding something! Someone is protecting someone! If only that someone could bring themselves to open up to LE, no matter how trivial it might seem. I can not imagine how a person can go on in life, knowing they hold the key to a murder. People have said on here whoever is responsible should turn themselves in. That will be a cold day in Hell before that happens. If it were a perfect world, that might be so, but we are far from a perfect world. Criminals do not turn themselves in, in most cases. Especially for murder! If they did, we would have no need for law enforcement, courts, or lawyers. Criminals would just lock themselves up or hire their own firing squad. Since that is not going to happen, the ones with facts need to contact LE and work WITH them. I would suggest you do this as soon as possible, as the longer it goes, the cloudier the facts get.
A suspect was arrested in a year old murder case in Lexington last week. That gives me a little hope that even though this is taking forever, there may eventually be an arrest made in Corrie's case.

If his DUI was dropped then what is his district court case in ogallala (kieth county) on the 4th for? Under hearing type it says status. And his county court case in Grant on the 29th that says it is a trial? And a default judgment (district court) in grant Perkins county) on the 8th. I understand the default judgment against adams lumber is probably a small claims deal. If you want to see the proof for yourself go here

Yes, Scott Petro was arressted for violation of his federal probation. We are still waiting to find out for how long, does anyone have accurate information regarding his sentencing - it has been said it should be anywhere between 2-4 years.
However, charges have not yet been filed in the beating death of Corrie Wood. This is an excellent time for anyone with any information that was afraid for their own well being and safety due to the violent nature of Scott Petro - to come forward with any and all information. Fear may have stopped you before but please think about aiding and abetting -

Aiding and abetting applies to someone who assists in or facilitates the doing of a crime. To be held accountable as an aider and abettor, you must know of the criminal objective and do something to make it succeed. For example, if you drive your friend to a meeting where you know your friend is going to buy drugs, you may be an aider and abettor in the drug transaction.
The key here is knowledge. While the level of participation of the aider and abettor may be relatively minor, the prosecution must show more than presence in a vehicle carrying drugs or association with conspirators known to be involved in a crime.
In other words, mere presence at the scene of a crime, even with guilty knowledge that a crime is being committed, isn't enough to make you liable for the crime itself, unless and until you do something to help the crime succeed.
Under federal law, the punishment for someone who aids and abets a crime is the same as the punishment for the person who principally committed the crime. In some states, the punishment may be less.

Yes it has been quiet! I know that Scott is at least being held in jail until May 20th. That is the day his hearing is to find out just exactly how long he will get. Lets hope for the longest time possible! The longer for him to be locked up the better!!

Ok - this is odd from the get go. Why wouldn't have Corrie's parents taken all of Corrie's items that were hers after her death? Including clothing. That would be a normal thing to do after a death. Those are some good questions. I can help with some of them. No Corrie's family does not live in the same town as Corrie and Scott did. They lived in Grant and Corrie's Mom and Dad and Brother live in Imperial, and her Sister lives in Colorado. And yes Accousti is still running with Scott being in jail. It is all very confusing! By the time the family got there to get Corrie's things they had already been gone through. It is all very messed up and very sad.

Well I don't know everyone that is involved with Accousti but I know that Jarod Potts is working still, I'm assuming that he is the main one that is responsible for it right now. Yes there are people that still stand behind Scott and that is the sad thing about it. That is why we are hoping and praying that now that Scott is locked up for now that people will feel safe to come forward and tell what they know. I know that there are people in Grant that know the whole story but they have been in fear of their own safety with Scott around (understandable). As far as Scott's family, I don't know much about them at all, I believe that they are supportive of him but I don't know for sure. It is such a mess. From what I've read, Mr. "I've made changes within myself" and "I'm not a trouble-maker anymore" has the hearing on May 20 re violation of federal probation. And according to Nebraska judicial calendar website, he also has two scheduled trials on May 29 for other charges - one is Keith County (9AM) and one is Perkins County (1PM).
Oh yes you are correct, "Mr. I'm not a trouble maker anymore" has been in A LOT of trouble lately and has lots of upcoming days in court. You are absolutely correct about the hearning on May 20th for violation of federal probation! That is the day we are looking forward to so that we can find out just how long he will be going away for!! As for the trials on May 29 in Keith and Perkins counties, (I'm not 100% on this) I think that one is for a DUI and one is for Terroristic Threats, or Assult. I know it was for some kind of fight or threat he made to some innocent person. Scott Petro is nothing but trouble and he needs to just be put away for the rest of his life and I hope to God they are able to convict him for the murder of Corrie Wood as well (no charges have been brought forward for Corrie's murder).

Ok - I was tired of waiting...using the VINELINK system I called Douglas County Corrections..SP is still in custody and is waiting for the US Marshalls. I asked if there was a trial. The operator told me she didn't know but if there was, the system would have been updated by now. She repeated herself saying that the US Marshalls are waiting to talk to him. So..I don't think any trial took place but he is still in custody. Anyone else no anything?
Hmmm, well I'm glad that you called. I have been working on getting some info all day yesterday and today. So they said that he is waiting for the US Marshalls to talk to him??? Weird...Well hopefully someone will find something soon.
It might be possible as well that his trial was moved to May 29th because I found something saying that he has a court date on 5-29-09 and it says trial. Also with the information that the poster from today got when they called that the US Marshalls are waiting to talk to him.

There is no no trial on a probation revocation ..Its a hearing . Just you and the judge .Typically its a year in prision and they renew your probation period ,im not sure wether he got 3 yrs or 5 yrs to start . He could be waiting to talk to the marshals about corrie , who knows . But i assure you if he has a state trail date on the 29th it has nothing to do with corrie . Probably the dui or the phone threat thing , i dont know . Unless there are new charges brought against him while hes in federal prision ,He'll be out in a year . Im just as sick about the corrie thing as every one else but im 99 % sure none of this pertains to it .The violation would be for the pending charges ( i.e. ,dui and phone threats , or assult whatever the charges are i dont know) .

Oh I know that none of this pertains to Corrie's case. All of this is due to violation of his probation and whatever charges occured for that to happen (dui, or threats or whatever). His hearing was suppose to be on 5-20 but I never found anything out about the results of that, then I found the trial date on 5-29-09 so I don't know what that is for.

For the last time, its parole not probation, there is a differance. And is Carrie that people are mentioning, is that the woman who supposably commited suicide while she lived with Scott in Lincoln? Is that the person they are talking about? That case was never investigated.
Whether it is parole or probation the bottom line is Scott should have been arrested after his first DUI. Unless you committed a Federal Crime prior to 1987, you are not on Parole from a Federal Prison. After 1987, you committed a Federal Crime and you were released before your full sentence was served, you were released on "Supervised Release". The Judge sets that amount of time and the conditions. All that amounts to is newer guidelines for sentencing and release, and being "Politically Correct" in our day and age. Probation is generally given instead of jail time for minor crimes and first time offenders, or for sentences less than one year. As far as the term "Jail" and "Prison", Jails are run by City and County government and Prisons are run by the state and Federal Government. Even though the Federal Government does not use the term "Parole" most states still do for less than a Federal Crime.

i told you all he'd get a year ,standard for federal supervised release (probation ) violation .Some judges will give a year and end the probation period .If this is the case he'll be a free man in a year ,sometimes they will give a year and renew the probation period ,just depends.Most federal felons would rather do a year and squash the paper .If anyone has any info on this case better step up ,there is a good chance he'll be a free man in a year !
I doubt he will be free in a year. I have full confidence that by this time he will be on trial or sentenced for the death of Corrie Wood. It is also in my strong opinion there is something to the death of Sherrie Lyn Akin. May they both rest in peace.

There can't be much proof yet to gather up. The house has been rented and everything out of the house has been boxed up and stored away. The business is slowly been either repossessed or sold off. According to the NE court calendar, the trial for that case (in Keith County) has been rescheduled to September 14, 2009.

Hopefully that link worked...anyway I think that the Vinelink site said that he was out of custody because he probably was moved out of that facility, Douglas county or whatever it was because the Federal Bureau of Prisons site says that he is "In Transit" and that his release date isn't until 03-12-2010. He already has been sentenced...His release date is 03-12-2010 and even then it's doubtful that he is going to get out because of other charges they have ready to slap on him and I just looked today and it says his location is now EL RENO FCI.

The defendant was charged with: 1) alleged felony possession of a firearm which occurred in April 2009; 2) alleged possession of a firearm by a felon, a Class III Felony occurring in April 2009; alleged assault in the third degree, a Class I Misdemeanor; 3) alleged failure to appear in April 2010 when on bail, a Class IV Felony.
An arrest warrant was issued in April 2010 when the defendant failed to appear. He was apprehended in Arizona and remains incarcerated in Dawson County due to overcrowding in Keith County.
Bond remains at 10 percent of $50,000 on each of the alleged firearm possession charges, plus bond of 10 percent of $100,000 on the failure to appear charge.
A District Court date is pending.
The defendant is represented by attorney Gregory Beal of Ogallala. Prosecuting the cases are Perkins County Attorney Richard H. Roberts and Perkins County Deputy Attorney Joel W. Phillips with assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol in the investigation.

Any new details on this case? Was an arrest ever made, did it go cold? I see the boyfriend is in prison for an unrelated case.
